Not every love story has a happy ending, but there's no bad blood between Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert.
Taylor announced her separation from her husband of seven years in an Instagram post Sunday, revealing the couple has been separated "for a while."
"We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children," Taylor wrote alongside a photo of the former couple. "Most importantly we are family (and) in the 10 (years) together, 7 (years) married we ain’t ever played with or about that."
The "White Men Can't Jump" star also seemingly debunked online rumors that the couple broke up due to Shumpert's alleged infidelity, adding that the actress-singer and former basketball player chose to handle their split privately.
"To be 1000% clear, 'infidelity' ain't one of the reasons for our departure," Taylor wrote. "We just keep y’all (butts) out (of) the group chat lol, which is the reason we've been able to successfully (and) peacefully separate without all of the outside noise. The only reason I'm even sharing this part of the chat is because the narratives are getting a little out of hand (and) it's unfair to all parties involved."
Taylor and Shumpert tied the knot in 2016. The couple shares two daughters: Iman Tayla, 7, and Rue Rose, 3.
In June, Taylor gave a sweet shoutout to her "bestie" Shumpert on Instagram for his 33rd birthday.
"Your birthday will always be one of my favorite days…..Because on this day 33 years ago a super dope human being was born," Taylor wrote at the time alongside a photo of Shumpert. "My best friend, my husband, my children's dad, my other half. Crazy how ya bday feels like my day cause you a gift. One of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received."
